Now Available for Download! Introduction The Digidesign ASIO Driver is a multichannel, multimedia sound driver that allows third-party audio programs which support the ASIO standard to record and play back through the following systems on Windows XP Professional or Home:
The ASIO Driver can also be used as a stand-alone driver (without Pro Tools), with any of the systems listed above (except Digi 002 and Mbox). Digi 002 and Mbox require Pro Tools LE to be installed first. (MBOX/002在XP下需要先安裝ProTools LE,才能使用ASIO) Full-duplex recording and playback of 24- and 16-bit audio are supported at sample rates supported by the hardware and ASIO program used. Programs The following programs have been tested with the ASIO Driver:
For additions to this list, and updates to the Digidesign ASIO Driver Beta software, please refer to the page you are on now in the Support/Downloads section: Some third-party programs require a later version for the ASIO Driver to work properly. For example, Steinberg Nuendo v1.5 or higher, Propellerhead Reason v1.0.1 or higher, Vaz2010 v1.0.3 or higher, and VirSyn TERRA v1.1R1 or higher are required.

You will need to rerun the ASIO Driver installer if you plan to continue using the ASIO Driver without Pro Tools. 安裝ASIO Driver
Removing the ASIO Driver If you need to remove the ASIO Driver from your computer, complete the following steps. To remove the ASIO Driver:
How to Change ASIO Driver Settings Please see the included Digidesign ASIO Driver Beta 5.3.3b1 Read Me Known Issues Be sure to read the Digidesign ASIO Driver Beta 5.3.3b1 Read Me carefully for specific instructions. The following sections document known issues you may encounter in using the ASIO Driver, along with workarounds if they exist. Remember, this is beta software. If you encounter problems with your third-party software program, please contact the manufacturer. Digi 001 and Digi 002 MIDI Ports are Not Supported The ASIO Driver is currently not compatible with the MIDI ports of Digi 001 and Digi 002. The ASIO Driver installer will remove this functionally. As a workaround, you can use a third-party MIDI interface (such as MIDIMAN 4x4). Or, if you are using a Digi 001 or Digi 002, and would like to regain this functionality at a later date, run the repair option (from the Pro Tools installer) after removing the ASIO Driver. Also, check back for updates of the ASIO Driver.
**Digidesign WaveDriver Not Supported with ASIO Driver The ASIO Driver cannot be installed on systems which also have the Digidesign WaveDriver installed. The ASIO Driver installer will remove this functionality. If you would like to regain WaveDriver functionality at a later date, remove the ASIO Driver, then re-install the WaveDriver. Also, check back for updates of the ASIO Driver. Digi 002 Buffer Size Cannot Be Set Below 512 When using a Digi 002 with the beta ASIO Driver, Buffer Size setting below 512 is not available. Pops using 2048 Buffer Setting and High Sample Rate You may hear pops and clicks using the 2048 buffer setting with a 96k or higher sample rate. Should this happen, use a lower buffer setting. Pops using 128 Buffer Settings and Moving Windows With Mbox, you may also hear pops and clicks using the 128 buffer setting while moving windows. Should this happen, use a higher buffer settings. Auditioning Audio with Pro Tools|HD Will Cause the ASIO Driver to Stop Functioning For Pro Tools HD-series systems, auditioning audio during playback will cause the ASIO Driver to stop functioning. Try to reset the driver by opening up the Digidesign ASIO Control Panel and toggling the Buffer Size setting. If this does not work exit the program and relaunch. ASIO Driver and Native Instruments Absynth Native Instruments Absynth is not supported by the ASIO Driver, except when used with AMIII (as a stand-alone driver), or when used within another program (such as Nuendo) as an instrument with any Digidesign hardware. This is because Absynth only works with hardware that reports a 32 bit data path. (All Digidesign hardware except AMIII reports a 24 bit data path.) ASIO Driver and Native Instruments Reaktor The ASIO Driver cannot support the audio input functionality of Native Instruments' Reaktor, except when used with AMIII (as a stand-alone driver), or when used within another program (such as Nuendo) with any Digidesign hardware. This is because Reaktor's inputs only works with hardware that reports a 32 bit data path. (All Digidesign hardware except AMIII reports a 24 bit data path.) Audio Output that is not effected in the audio input signal does not have any of these issues. Digidesign ASIO Driver Q & A Q: Will there be a Mac version of the ASIO Driver?
